Question

Canon Pixma MP530 loud grinding/racheting noise

Feb 26, 2014 11:50PM PST

Apparently this problem has come up with a lot of users of this model. Logically it seems to be a purely mechanical issue, maybe due to parts wear. Anyone know the likely cause and what is the easiest way to resolve it?

These are about 2 year life span printers. Tell how old and do not get estimates on repair as out of warranty repair is more than a new printer. Some folk scream "I won't buy _____ again." But not realize in this class of printer, limited life spans.

HP has similar issues with some of their units, the Photosmart 5500 series seems to have this as a fairly common malady and it IS a mechanical issue, the quality control is just not there as it has been in years past.
