Wouldn't you know it--- less than one week out of warranty, one of the 5 ink cartridges (6bk) is not producing a drop. I have replaced the cartridge twice and performed many cleanings (inc. deep cleanings) to no avail. If I call Canon, I will have to pay $10 to hear (most likely) that the printhead is damaged (translation: "Tough luck!") So, I thought, before I throw the dang thing away and begin my search for it's replacement, I may as well ask to see if there is anything I can at least try on my own to get the ink to flow again.
By the way, the nozzle check reveals that the print head is out of alignment, but it cannot be aligned because the 6bk ink is the one it uses to print out the test sheet you are supposed to examine during the alignment process. (Perhaps a swift kick from one side will be worth a try? ![]()
