Canon Photo Paper?

May 20, 2006 1:12PM PDT

Okay, I've just purchased a Canon Pixma MP500. I used the sample photo paper that came along with it (Photo Plus Paper Glossy), and it looked terrific. I decided that the cheaper Canon Matte Photo Paper would look just as good as the matte photo paper in the stores, boy was I wrong. It looks terrible, the colors are too saturated, and the paper was way too thin. I want to continue using this printer, but before I go and buy some paper, I'd like to hear some first hand experience. Is there anyone out there with a MP500 that has used the Standard Glossy or Semi-Glossy photo paper by Canon. I just don't want to be paying for Photo Plus Paper because I could just go to a store then. Any other brands that CNET members have used with the MP500 and had good experience with would be greatly appreciated.
