Canon MP730 has lines in scanned image

Dec 17, 2004 5:20PM PST

I just bought an MP730 and when I scan a photo, it comes up in photoshop with faint lines all the way across it. I selected "photo" and both 300dpi and 1200dpi and it still scans with the lines.

Any help would be great. I'd simply like to know if it's something I'm doing wrong or if it's a faulty machine. I can't find any settings where I can align the scan components, so I'm assuming it should be automatic.

Did it every work?

And does it work on some other machine?

Scan lines

I have a canon multi pass f60 and it is doing the same thing. I called canon and they told me to clean glass and the white background on the scanner. I did and they are still there. I asked around and everybody I have asked has said that the scanner is bad. If you just got yours you might need to call canon to see if they can fix or replace it. Its to late for me. I had mine for bought 2 years. I know I won't never get another canon product I have had a lot of trouble out of printing and scanning. At first it printed great I loved it but after the first time the ink ran out and i replaced it started puting exsess ink and colors running together. I hope this helps man and good luck.
