But it was my router. I had to do a few things to get my Canon mx870 to work as well as cure other network issues.
1. Roll back the firmware version on the router.
2. Set the router wifi speed down to 150.
I did not have to change any setting in the printer or my laptop.

This is so annoying. This printer prints wirelessly once after being turned on and then has to be cycled off/on again to print another document.
Reinstallation doesn't help, so I suspect it's a setting in my system, which is Windows 7 Home Professional.
Any ideas or possibe solutions?
