Canon iP4000 - won't print with black ink

Jul 23, 2006 5:48AM PDT

The printer is about a year old and was sitting around collecting dust, so my sister passed it on to me. She said she never used it but had installed all of the ink cartridges. I had to just replace the yellow cartridge since that dried out but all the others were fine. I've done several cleanings, deep cleaning, nozzle checks, etc. and I cannot print in normal black and white. I even replaced the main black ink cartridge (BCI-3e) but it still won't print. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions?
