The LED blinking is a error code status. it should help pin-point what causing the error. If 4 blinks=ink cart, if 5=print carriage, it should recycle the blink code. Hit resume/cancel button and that should clear the error, then retry any prints if possible otherwise the blink code returns. if the blink sequence is different, please note it maybe I can decipher it further, but be sure of the sequence.

My son's printer wasn't working for months while at school. I got it and cleaned up the print cartridge, installed the newest driver and put new aftermarket ink cartridges in it since two of the old cartridges were dry. I've pulled the plug, reset it, UI/RI'd it and done every trick you can do. The amber light blinks meaning it's not working and a "printer error" message box comes up every time I try to print a test page or do a nozzle clean. The new print cartridge costs around $50, so I want to be sure before I buy it. Anyone have success fixing a Canon i560?
