canon i560 printer

Jul 2, 2006 7:39AM PDT

My Canon i560 printer is no longer printing with its black cartridge. When this happened previously, cleaning and deep cleaning, as per their maintenance steps cleared up the problem. This time, it has not worked despite doing this a couple of times. The Canon site simply says that I have a problem with my printheads and it must be taken for repair. I can't believe that repair will be worth the expense. Does anyone have any cheaper ideas based on their experience with this?

Thanks
