Canon HV30 & HV40 Confused About Pricing

by davidpfryan / November 1, 2009 9:21 AM PST

Hi, I've decided to buy a Canon HV30 or HV40, I've read a few articles on the net in regard to both camcorders, (and I would greatly appreciate any help or advice you could offer) the HV40 being an upgrade on the HV30. So naturally I would presume the HV40 would be more expensive than the HV30, but when I check the prices of both camcorders online the HV30 is way more expensive (On -Canon VIXIA HV30 is $1,499.99 and Canon VIXIA HV40 is $712.96) I'm completely baffled by the differnce, if you could tell me why this is so or even better which camera you would recommend. Thank you for your help in advance.

the deal with amazon
by dpulley17 / November 6, 2009 4:29 PM PST

Amazon has different vendors. There is alot of gouging with some of the vendors. one vendor could have the HV30 for 699.99 and another vendor could have it for 1399.99. I just went to the local penn camera store. They had the HV40 for 799.99
I just bought a used HV30 (bran spanking new condition, box, paperwork and unwraped accesories) for 535$. Amazon is a great place to buy, but chose the vendors carfully.
HV30, is awsome. Please continue to consider HDV. so many people out there, are now wondering what to do with thier hard drive and SD camcorders, now that they are running out of computer space to archive thier video footage.
Good luck.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
