yes your comp is too slow for playback. how are you watching the avchd discs? on the laptop or a tv w/ separate player?
Hello all.
I am pretty new to the whole DV world.
I purchased a Canon HG21 and have been shooting little clips of video, testing it out, etc. So far I am really happy with everything associated with the recording and the operation of the HG21, but I think I am having issues with the PC.
I have uploaded several 1 to 4 minute clips recorded in MXP, 1920x1080, 60i, 24mbps. When I play back on the computer, most of my video is choppy, especially the movement. Also, when I burn AVCHD discs, the video is also choppy, especially the movement.
I am using the software from Canon, and it looks like I meet the min. requirements for the AVCHD playback and disc burning, but it seems that I am underpowered. (Dell Inspiron 1720 Laptop, 1.5ghz dual core pentium, 2G of RAM, and it looks like on-board video card, intel chipset 965 mobile.) Not sure if it's processing power, the ram or just the lack of video card that is my problem.
I am wondering if anyone has had any luck the the Canon HG21, AVCHD with other setups and if so, maybe you can pass on your specs to me. It seems as if I am going to have to build myself a desktop to handle AVCHD, maybe a quad core.
Any info, input, etc. is appreciated.
Thanks!
