While I don't have the best hardware my machine is a Core2Duo at 2.3GHz with 2GB RAM and some 500GB SATA connected drive. The rendering step is a little over an hour and the DVD recording time varies with the speed of the media and drive I use. So your time could be just about right.
As to the camcorder buttons operation during connected to the pc issue, that sounds right as the pc software usually takes that task.
I am new to the HD camcorders and just purchased the HF-10. It took me over 3 hours to burn a 45 minute DVD disc on my computer. Just curious, what's the average burn time for others. Also, is it better to burn the DVD Disc or AVCHD.
Lastly, when I connect the camcorder to the PC, all buttons on the camcorder do not work. I then 'safetly remove' hardware from the computer. The Buttons still do not work on the camcorder. I have to yank the cord off the camcorder. Is this normal.
Any response appreciated as this is new to me.
PS. My computer was recenlty purchased last fall, 160 gb, 2 hz.
