Canon fs 100 image stabilizer or zoom

hellow everybody

I bought a canon fs100 recently, but the image stabilizer seems to fail me. I tried it on a threefoot but the image still stays very very flew when i zoom in on simple things. For example i put a cd on like 3 meters and couldn't even get a sharp image, not even with a low zoom... I wonder if the camcorder fails something or if i should change some parameters?

Sharpness doesn't usually have to do with optical zoom...

That would be the focus and/or the digital zoom (which should never be used, by the way, because it degrades quality.) Make sure the camcorder is not on manual focus.
