Canon Elura 70 problems

Aug 5, 2006 6:03PM PDT

I recently bought a Canon Elura 70, and for whatever reason, it does this thing where its just constantly slowly zooming in. It's not very consistent, I mean sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't, but I can seem to find a way of fixing it.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, any suggestions on what I might do to fix it?

Is this under warranty?
Aug 9, 2006 3:37PM PDT

Hi -

I would be most inclined to call Canon on this one. I did not find anything on this issue (yet) on the web or other forums - I would get it replaced under warranty as soon as possible.

If it is out of warranty, it may still be worth talking to Canon to get some explanation for the fault; let us know how it goes and if needed we can keep searching -

Regards,

Tim

Canon Elura 70 Zooms by itself

I also have a Canon Elura 70 doing the exact same thing. Mine is just over a year old. It will zoom tight all by itself sitting on a tripod. Tapping on the front of the camcorder will stop it temporarily. I also would like to find a fix. Have emailed Canon tech support waiting for a reply.

Yeah, I've had my Ellura 70 for about four years and have used a lot of tape. But just in the past few days it has started the creep of the telephoto. So if anyone finds out anything about this problem, please post here so the rest of us slobs can get some sleep.
