Canon DC210 camcorder HELP!!!!!!!!!

Only a month old.
Had a JVC DVDR DL disc inside the camcorder.
Had some movies and still pictures on it and did not remove it because it still had plenty of room on it for more. (Was not finalized)
Husband went to take pictures yesterday and it displayed "unable to recognize recordable disc."
Took disc out and placed in my computer and my computer kept telling me to insert disc, when it was already in there.
Placed disc in our Sony DVD player for the tv and same thing, could not read.
Placed disc into PS2 and also, the same thing.
Placed it back into the camcorder and it took about a minute and half to read and then said unable to recognize.
Looked in manual but states something about using a different technical device used to record.............HUH?
Contacted Canon, but no response yet.
HELP, I had precious memories on there.
I cleaned the disc also, and nothing worked.

We could play back and see the still pictures while the disc was in the camera and with the usb cable to the TV, until yesterday. It just all disappeared!
