Canon camera choices HELP

We are in search of a new camera that gives excellent quality photos.

We have somewhat narrowed in down to these 2
Canon G11 or the Canon SX20is. We did look at the S90 however would like a viewfinder.

The biggy for us is a good zoom, ex photo quality and a viewfinder.
We are ready to step it up from a very simple point and shoot but not reasy for a SLR

Good zoom and photo quality.
The G11 and SX20IS are your only choices from Canon.

The G11 is Canon's premium camera and the most expensive.
It does offer better low light performance than the SX20IS.

I forgot to mention that the camera we have now is a Canon SD590si
would the G11 or the SX20si be a big improvement as far as image quality etc?

SD590 iS?

I am going to assume you mean the A590 IS. You can compare image quality using the comparometer at Imaging Resource:

Frankly, I'd be surprised if you would notice much of a difference in image quality in good light. Where the G11 does better is in low light because it has a bigger image sensor (although the A590 actually has a brighter lens.)
