More megapixels let you print excellent large prints and
gives you more latitude with editing.
You have more freedom to crop a photo.
I make a lot of slide shows and find that an 8 megapixel image lets me do more things with panning across the image. It also lets me zoom far into a picture before it starts to blur. It adds motion to an ordinarily static slide show.
I notice one of the reviewers also commented about the viewfinder on the A720. I also saw comments about the Canon G9 viewfinder being off target.
The A570 has "stitch assist", I would think that the A590 would too.
But you can find out for sure by going to www.canonusa.com and downloading the Camera User Guide (Basic and Advanced) for the A590.
All it does is lock the exposure and white balance on the first shot so that subsequent shots match the first shot.
You do the actual stitching with a provided software program.
Be sure to overlap the shots by 40 to 50 percent.
A tripod is best for doing a panorama, but a steady hand can work too.
Canon seems to prefer slow flash recycle on the A series of cameras.
Don't know why.
I need some assitance in making a decision.
Canon A590is vs. Canon A720is
Current camera is a Canon A520.
Will I really notice a difference between 6x vs. 4x zoom?
I still do a lot of editing aftershot. Won't the 8mg pixels
allow me the freedom to do most edits with out image loss?
Is there an issue with the A720 viewfinder?
On a different site I read the 720 Vfinder is out of focus.
I went to local Walmart and looked thru the vfinder.
Wow, the 590 was sharp... the 720 "out of focus" ?
Is this for real...?
I dislike using the screen... old 35mm habits die slowly.
Even on my A520 I sometimes curse the alignment of the Vfinder.
Just does not show what the picture actually is...
Are most Canon A's like this?
Is there a difference between the flash ready cycles of the 2 cameras?
I've ready the A720 is in the neighborhood of 8 seconds... slow.
Is the A590 just as slow between shots when using the flash?
One last Question... Does A590 have stitch mode like my A520 ??
Thanks for assistance
