canon a2200 or sony w550?

hi
i am beginner in photography and wanna buy a digital camera for general photography (family , tours or exhibitions)
i decided to go for canon a2200 but it doesn't have image stabilization. my question is, does image stabilization feature counts in general photography? hurry up please i have to select either sony w550 or canon a2200

With a small lightweight camera, image stabilization is a useful feature.
It will cut down on blurry pictures taken in many low light situations.

If you have a steady hand and take your time in framing your shots, you can get by without image stabilization.

i Think for the beginner you can use other canon SX40 for the pratice optional feature.
