That you've fallen into the lowest possible "f" rating trap. I have some other DSLR and wanted a clearer lens so I went with the 40mm f2.8 lens along with the bundled and some other zoom lens. The fixed focal length is nice to have but I can't imagine having only that. And since the bundled lens was 18 to 55 I can't see why I'd get the 30 until I had a very very good reason and had taken such for a test drive.

Hello. I have now decided that im going for the canon 70D for shooting video.
Now I dont want any concerns on how DSLR is not a video camera etc.
My question is what you guys have to say about lenses. Maybe we have a 70D owner here who can tell me how his lenses are working with AF in video mode.
I was thinking of getting a Sigma 30mm / 1,4 DC HSM A-Art as my starter lens.
If you have any tips on me getting another starter lens that would be much apreciated. But do you think the face detection will work?
I have been googling around and it works with some third-party lenses but its unsure on exactly which ones. I havent found anything on 30mm lenses.
Do any of you guys have any thought?
