Cannot view PC on Smart TV using Router Samsung CY-SWR1100

Dec 14, 2012 8:22PM PST

I have just successfully connected my Samsung Wireless Router CY-SWR1100 via my PC to my 40 " Samsung Smart TV Model UA32D5500. The internet LAN connection is working and I can view whatever is on the Smart Hub.
However, I cannot view anything from my PC on my TV and there is an error signal; " CHECK SIGNAL CABLE" showing on the TV screen when I switch to PC mode.
How do I view stuff from my PC on the TV using LAN and remove this message?

PLEASE HELP !

The PC MODE I know of does not use the router or network but you connect your PC to the PC Input on the TV. This can be that 15 pin VGA connection.

Did you do that?

To view my PC on the TV over the LAN would require more hardware. The cable connection is the cheapest with a wireless HDMI and such ramping up the costs.

Viewing PC on SMART TV using Router Samsung CY-SWR1100

Thanks in the meanwhile Bob.
I have'nt connected the PC via VGA, the PC and TV are divided by a brick wall, hence the use of a
Wireless LAN connection.
Will I be able to view my PC on the TV over the LAN if I connect the PC with a USB cable directly to the Router?
Alternatively, if this is not possible can I connect the PC directly with said USB cable to the TV? I may then have
to drill a hole thru the wall to establish such a physical connection.
Awaiting your advices,
Thanks,
Alex

1. Will I be able to view my PC on the TV over the LAN if I connect the PC with a USB cable directly to the Router?

Sure if you can find documentation for such a feature and setup. I didn't.

2. Alternatively, if this is not possible can I connect the PC directly with said USB cable to the TV?

I didn't see that supported. The USB port looks to be for other uses.

-> Can you share what you are trying to use this for? Sometimes an Apple TV or DLNA will do the job.
