Question

Cannot start wireless

Oct 22, 2012 9:02AM PDT

I had to re-format and re-load everything from scratch. Now my wireless is not turned on and won't find my wireless signal from my router. Tried everything to fix this problem but I'm stumped.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bud

Answer
Sounds Like You Need More Drivers Installed...

In your case, you'll need to find the correct wireless driver.. If it's a brand name computer, then visit the computer manufacturer's website and download/install the wireless adapter driver for your model number.

And just in case you haven't checked the Device Manager, please check to make sure there aren't other drivers missing.. You'll see yellow exclamation marks next to missing hardware devices and their drivers.

Hope this helps.

Some machines need more than drivers.

Dells need QuickSet.
Toshibas need the Tosh VAP.
HP has their own helper app.

It's a shame the maker and model is missing but given how many machines require more than drivers I thought by now many would have figured this one out. Spread the word?
