Cannot send or receive e-mail - Outlook Express

Jun 6, 2005 11:54AM PDT

I set up an Outlook Express e-mail account for a friend whose OS is win-xp-he. The IE/Outlook Express is ver 6.0. After correctly setting up the pop3 mail account, I tried to send an e-mail. I received the following Error Message: ''This message has not completed downloading. It cannot be saved until download is complete. There had been nothing downloaded on this PC for many days. I thought there might be Spyware or Adware issues, so I ran both Spysweaper and Adaware. Although there were spyware and adware files, they were removed successfully. I rebooted and tried to send/receive e-mail again. I got the same error message. This one really has me stumped. I have never seen this weird error before. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ray Savage

Cannot S or S..........

Perhaps you could set them up with Firefox and Thunderbird and see if they work better! IE & OE are very buggy. Too many patches on patches, etc. Also, FF
does NOT use Active X. That alone is a good reason to switch!

RE TO ALTERNATE E MAIL CLIENT

Why just give a try to FF? With various browsers-not too updated, initial versions, you have more freedom to go whenever you wont,do whatever you wont, never get:this page can not be displayed....Set FF1.0.1 ie 5.0 and Netscape8.0 and you get much better performance from your comp, get rid of the content advisor which can be locked from X actives and you can be unable to unlock it.And tell me someone who likes any kind of locked door

gives a hard-found solution. But you won't like it, o no. You'll hate it. And no sign of any reason for this behaviour to be found. Just a awful solution.

Simple solution to this problem, go to the webmail site for your email server, and move the first few emails to a folder, or read them and delete them, they are sticking and causing your email program to time out...
