Cannot save on DVDs

Jan 2, 2005 9:54PM PST

Hi, I've read the post about the DVD formats, so I checked my manual and went out to buy the correct DVDs which for my computer are DVD+R or +RW. I bought the +RW. I have an hp pavilion which has a dvd writer/cd writer combo and DVDrom.
So I plop the dvd into the dvd writer thinking I can just save on it as I do on a cd. But that didn't work. Then I clicked on "burn..." and the Sonic Updater turns up looking for the msi package, which I don't seem to have.
Would somebody please tell what I'm doing wrong or what I have to do in order to save pictures or data to a dvd disk?
I would greatly appreciate it.
Hella
