Cannot run disk check on C Drive

I first discovered a problem with my Dell XPS M1330 with Windows Vista Premium (64bit OS) when I had problems with my iTunes. I uninstalled the iTunes program and then tried to install again. It won't install and instead gives me an error box that says it encountered a corrupt file and the path has the C:/applemobile device support in the path (not exact path). Also, the error code is 2330. I tried to run a disk check of the C drive. It says it cannot run the disk check while disk is in use, so I click schedule check. But when I restart, it doesn't check the disk. I also ran a scan through the command prompt and it said there were problems but I could not see what they were. I alos could not access the CBS log (that is what another suggested. Please help!!! My computer is only a few months old....
