Cannot pull up my Safari or Firefox applicaitons

I have uninstalled and re installed the Safari an Firefox software apps. When I click on either of them, I get a "bad Image,,,Windowsdll32......" message. So, I cannot get them to boot up. Please help. I have HP PC with windows xp with DSL. I can pull up internet explorer and AOL.....
