cannot produce/ export pal analog 8mm vhs cam win xp Adobe

Well, i recently made a movie using a sony handycam which went well, no problems at all. Then my friend told me that he had successfully produced a few clips from footage from his old analog 8mm vhs cam we previously had through multimedia for windows. I had used PAL for windows on my other movie with handycam. I was very happy as we thought you could not use that old dog and we had some pretty good stuff on there. I captured all relevnt clips and tryed producing a few but the finished product is just a black screen. I have tryed all settings to my knowledge but no good. It seems strange how it works on my mates desk top pc and also my other mates laptop but not my desktop. Adobe prem 6, win xp, pal analog 8mm cam
