Cannot play selected .avi files - Please help

I have downloaded a couple of .avi files but when I try to play them with Windows media player the video is scrambled. The sound plays perfectly. What can I do to resolve this issue???

WMP doesn't always play AVI files that well.

Try the VLC Player, or if you want a dedicated AVI media player, try the DivX player.

You don't say where you downloaded these files from, but if it is from some file sharing source you will often find corrupted files seeding the results.
