Cannot install firefox 3

by Howmu / June 29, 2008 12:37 AM PDT

I've been using Firefox for several years and like it very much. I recently downloaded Firefox 3 but I cannot install it. I get the message that firefox must be closed before installation can proceed. I close every instance of Firefox, (I even make IE my default browser and reboot, but I get the same message.) Any suggestions would be appreciated. Might it work if I uninstall the firefox I have on my computer?

I rebooted again and tried but no luck. Then I clicked on the firefox preloader icon in my systray and selected unload firefox and then tried again and I was able to install Firefox 3. But I'm not sure if I like it. It seems slower than my last version. But I will give it some time.

Firefox 3 seems much faster. I am now looking forward to exploring other new features. Thread closed
