Cannot go to DOS Command Anymore !

xp-home Edition.DVD-Rom LG Burner...have all the Upgrades Installed.Start> Run> type in CMD this screen comes up 16 bit ms-dos Subsystem ...
tried to use System Restore! says cannot use this to go an earlier time..says I am Missing WINUPDATE.Dll
...Not sure how to repair this ! any help is appreciated ! TY
System windows xp-home edition...pentium 4.. 40 gig harddrive....checked for all Virus,s...is clean...

There are two different command prompts !

1. cmd; 2. command

Type command into "Run" ...and see whether you still get that error. (Note: to return to Windows, you cannot 'X' out. You have to do what you did in the old days - use the exit command)

I have to use Command Only for Dos.....I know Exit is to exit..and ty for all your help...U peeps are Great TY...the other one comes up CMD ....get a strange script that comes up....I can Only use Command Now!
