Question

Cannot format laptop

I tried to format it but it's impossible, even with dvd disk or usb with Windows.
Can anyone give me some tips?

With an install disk or stick you should be able to do a clean install of Windows (just delete the current partition and make a new one if the format option during the install doesn't work).

Can you tell what exactly goes wrong?

- How did you make that disk and that stick?
- Can you boot from them on another PC/laptop?

Still cannot boot...

In reply to: Re: cannot boot

I created that with Windows 7 usb/dvd download tool.
I didn't try that yet at another pc/laptop.

It should work then.
If it works on another PC, and not on this one, it's a hardware or BIOS issue, not a Windows issue.

Thanks a lot

In that case, any tips?

That the optical drive has lost boot capability but works in Windows. What a time sink.

To work around these I try my USB DVDRW drive or just move to USB stick boots.
