Cannot find server...

by emaa / October 19, 2006 9:36 AM PDT

Windows XP; Panda Platinum 2006 AV up to date.

At the beginning of last week I could not connect to the Internet so I phoned my ISP and they told me to make some changes regarding the maximum speed for my 56k modem (57600) and to check the Microsoft Client alternative. The PC had been running with no problem at all up to that moment.
After that I was able to connect to the Internet but now whenever I try to open a Microsoft page like MSN, MSN Messenger, my Hotmail account, Windows Update, Windows Support, etc., I get a "cannot find server" and/or "the page cannot be displayed".
Some homepages like Google, Yahoo, American Airlines...can sometimes be opened but when I try to open a link beyond the homepage I get the same "cannot find server" and "the page cannot be displayed". I haven't even been able to access the last Windows Updates in order to install them.
My Panda AV finds nothing wrong. My ISP says that they have nothing to do with the problem. Sometimes (being connected to the Internet) I try to access the Microsoft Support page and I receive the message that I am not connected and need to connect.
WHAT IS WRONG???? Thanks.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
