Question

cannot find printer on wireless network with windows 8.1

Apr 21, 2014 6:08PM PDT

I bought a new laptop, Llenova yoga2 pro with windows 8.1 which does not have a network cable connection. So I am on wireless. But I cannot see the brother mfc7820N printer on the network which can be seen from my husband's desktop with cable network connection. Help please.

probable have to go on to the printer and do the wireless network setup. When you do this it will show you the networks it see and you'll have to connect and if you have security the password to your wireless will have to be added. That will add the device to your wireless network. Then you go to the laptop in control panel and click add printers and devices. Once your there search the network and the name should appear as a device and then click it. You will probably get a message that it's installing a driver and then most printers prompt to print a test page. Say yes to test it and you should be connected.
