Resolved Question

cannot find AHCI change settings in BIOS

as it says,i upgraded my old comp with a new samsung 840 evo SSD,i cant find in my bios where to change the settings to AHCI...my comp is a presario sr5710y and the mobo is MCP61PM-HM (Iris)...rather frustrating... only thing i came close was sata/pata settings but all it allows is to enable or disable........anyone have any ideas?

thanks for the reply bob,ya i bought it back in 2009,it was preboxed.....that makes sense they just dont let you tweek anything much.It isnt seriously important,i just read it would be a little faster being you can use trim if AHCI is set,but its just a backup comp anyways,i just wanted to get it fast as possible cause....why not? lol...sounds good,i wont worry about it. Thanks for the help!!

I usualy disable the PATA if nothing's plugged in.

Saves some boot time but this looks to be from the early days where PATA still ruled and those PC in a box machine.
