1. Uninstall and reinstall winrar.
2. Use another program to unrar, like tugzip (free download).
This probably has nothing to do with Windows XP. Unless, of course, your harddisk is very full and there's no place for the extracted files.

I am running Windows XP Home edition and it seems like I am unable to extract compressed files that are bigger in size. I am using WinRar as the extraction program and whenever I try to extract a file that is a large size (i.e. a game demo), nothing happends. The computer does absolutely nothing. Its like I didn't do anything at all. If I keep trying to extract it, my computer then just freezes until I manually turn it off.
This never used to happen at all. The first time that this has happened was when I was extracting a video game demo (Dark Messiah), the computer froze and then would crash on start-up until I loaded it using backup floppy disks and ran it through Chkdsk. Now it doesn't let me extract at all.
I need help please!
