Cannot delete IE6 url history

May 4, 2005 4:35AM PDT

I am using Windows XP SP2, IE6, ZoneAlarm Pro and Norton AV 2003 uptodate.

There are certain entries of visited urls in the address bar which just wouldn't go. Just clicking on a blank portion of the bar does not reveal anything because I regularly delete it from Tools > Internet Options > History > Clear history. But if I begin typing 'www' to go to a website, quite a number of entires appear/drop down from the address bar.

I have run Spybot, PestPatrol, CWShredder and AdAware but to no avail. I have also searched through Browsers section here in Cnet forum.

Can someone please help?

Thanks,
Guite

That is not "history".

That feature is called AUTOCOMPLETE and has it's own clear button.

Used PurgeIE, problem resolved!

I thought AutoComplete was a different thing. So, I went through previous posts again on AutoComplete problems and found a link to EditURLs. While there came across PurgeIE, used it and problem resolved!

http://www.purgeie.com/

It offers a 15 days fully functional trial.
