Question

Cannot delete folder in the C:\Temp

May 15, 2015 8:59PM PDT

Checking disk I discovered a folder c:\Users\...\Temp\imgMnt01 with size 10Gb, see here:

It looks like the image of an entire disk Win7+C:, probably in conjunction with NTlite, I used a long time ago.
I suppose, if the Temp directory is not needed for running os.
But it is not delete in any way: no programs like Unlocker, or MoveOnBoot, etc. Even in safe mode.
I have admin rights, I am the only one on this PC.
What to do? I cannot find any procedure, consult someone with a similar experience?
Thanks for the advice
Peter

If you are absolutely positive

That you want to be rid of that particular file/folder, make a Linux Live CD and boot to that OS. It will not make any changes to the files until you tell it to do so. Just be care that is all you delete. Then reboot to the Windows OS and check to see if it gone.
When Windows will not allow what you think you should be able to do, Linux Live can be of value for other tasks, too.

I've Found An Elevated CMD Prompt From Safe Mode...

...will do it.. Open the elevated command prompt, then use commands to navigate to and open the C:\Temp folder. Once there, "deltree" or "RD" the "imgMnt0"1 folder, depending on your operating system & 32bit vs 64 bit. Just another option that has occasionally worked for me without the need of a Knoppix disc.

Hope this helps.

delete rights

Check the permissions to see if you have delete rights. If not you should be able to change the owner to yourself, then you will have delete rights.
