I am a longtime computer user who is having a frustrating problem I can't figure out.
I have a 2.6ghz Dell with 256 Ram running Windows XP. I use it for alot of graphics editing, etc. Recently i exported a huge image out in illustrator, resulting in a 510MB .eps file on my desktop. I cannot delete this file! Every single time i try it says it is in use by another person or program.
Noone else is connected to my computer, and I have no programs running other than explorer.
I have rebooted a number of times...and even tried to even delete this file in safe mode, same message!
When I boot up, it takes a good 5 minutes for the icon for the .eps to change from an unidentified file to the adobe illustrator CS icon, and i can tell it's trying to process something. I have a feeling this file is slowing down the rest of my computer's processes somehow...
I have run numerous virus scans (Mcaffee up to date) and even done a spyware scan. nothing.
any ideas or tips?? Thanks so much...
