While it is obvious that most of us are not mind readers, we could be more helpful (and less rude) to our fellow human if we also observe another painfully obvious point...SYSTEM RESTORE, people! C'mon! SYSTEM RESTORE!!! How many OS's out there have a feature called SYSTEM RESTORE? I'd be willing to bet that we're talking about Windows ME here. (Please don't publically humiliate me should I be mistaken) =D

I run windows ME, and I am currently having the same difficulty. Any 'valid' and 'pertinent' info/advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Samiamnurnot, Thanks For Giving Your Operating System But...
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / December 8, 2004 12:32 AM PST

...asking for a poster to list their operating system isn't "rude" in my opinion. System Restore points can refer to two different operating systems at this time,(XP & ME) although currently XP has three different "forms" which could be found, XP, XP SP1, and XP SP2. Each of these could have slightly different issues and ME has quite a few more issues than does XP. The "fixes" are also different. Windows ME's version of SR is much more tempermental than the version in Windows XP. It's so simple for the original post to list their operating system. That way we don't have to "bet" on it being one OS or another.

In regards to your Windows ME problem, please see the suggestions by Bob Proffitt at the link below:

Hope this helps.

Thanks Bob, Yep....

I've seen it, but I'm not currently using Windows 2003 so I completely forgot..."Out of sight, out of mind"?

Never have been a Linux user so I wouldn't know one from the other.

Thanks again.

You're absolutely right, I stand corrected. The wording just got me, that's all. Thanks.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
