Cannot copy emails in Outlook 2003.

Sep 24, 2007 9:17PM PDT

I had to format/reinstall Windows so I copied my .PST files on another drive and when I installed Office 2003 again I added the .PST file again. I don't like having several "Personal folders" so I wanted to copy the e-mails from the old "Inbox" and "Sent Items" to the new one. But when I do this selecting all the messages, Outlook hangs. When I try to copy messages one by one I can copy several messages, but on every forth (or so) message I receive the error "Can't copy the items. Failed to allocate an object. Not enough resources". I can read the e-mail. I can reply it. But I cannot copy it. What can I do to fix this?

That hang. Any norton or mcafee addins?

It could be scanning them. Try this. Click Start, run and enter this...

OUTLOOK /SAFE

Now try it.

safe mode didn't work

I tried with Outlook -safe yesterday, it ran in safe mode but I still couldn't copy it. There was a tool that fixes corrupted PSTs and I'm gonna try it. I'll write how it went.

Just a note.

It's /safe, not -save. If you entered it in the start>run box incorrectly (like you did here) it might not have worked.

Anyway, repairing a corrupt database isn't a bad idea.
