Question

Cannot connect to wifi on my newly installed windows 7?

Sep 27, 2015 8:34AM PDT

My wifi on router is already set up but my wifi is not shown in the Taskbar wifi menu. I opened Network and Sharing Center. Clicked 'Change adapter setting' and when it opened its completely empty nothing shows up.
Then i opened System Information from run typing 'msinfo32'. Under components-> problem devices I have a list of problems they are:
-3D video controller
-Ethernet controller
-network controller
-PCI simple communication controller
-SM bus controller
-USB controller
-USB2.0-CRW

That's all. I mean how do I solve them. The Error code is same for all of them: "the drivers for this device are not installed".
Where can I find those drivers from the Internet. My Pc is running Windows 7 ultimate sp2 64bit

Microsoft's base set of drivers are just enough to run the OS. Now you get to find and install the usual drivers from the maker of each item. I use this order of installation.

1. Motherboard chipset driver package.
2. Audio, video and LAN packages.
3. WiFi if needed,
4. USB2.0CRW? is a little vague but my bet is it will clear up as you get the 1-3 items installed.

On my Dell laptop (WiFi only, no bluetooth) the wireless switch is a slider on the right side and the fn-f2 key combination. Yours might be different. Please check the user manual.
