okay you are having irq conflict disable the dialup modem, go to start, setting, control panel, system icon then device manager and disable the dialup modem. then reinstall the cable modem drivers. and try that, still no luck have the cable guy come out there and test to see if yor receiving a signal. My friend has a pentium III computer running windows 98. She just ordered adelphia cable but has been having problems with the cable modem. She has had dial up for the past two years or so and hasn't had problems. But she installed a network card and loaded the cable modem drivers on her computer and now she cannot connect to the internet with either cable or dial up. She is receiving the following error message:
SB IRQ conflicting with PCI IRQ
creative SB16 Emulation Driver not Loading
Her screen also flashes an anti-virus message that says the anti-virus software is disabled. She is running (or not running as the case may be) Norton Antivirus 2003. Has anyone run into this before? Please advise.
ps. I went over and uninstalled the cable modem software and re-seated the network card then rebooted but the same error keeps coming up.
