Cannot connect to server in time to play Warthunder

(originally sent to Warthunder developers. Ran internet test including a trace. It showed Hop 7 and 8 timed out. ISP issue. Century Link tech support didn't have a clue. Any Ideas? Would like to post trace but can't add pictures to here form my files.

"For some reason, and within the last 2 months, I cannot get into the Warthunder game until it is well underway.  I am running a dell Alienware gaming laptop. I have a high-end modem and Netgear Nighthawk 8000 router. My internet speed is 100 bps. Firewall is set to allow Warthunder to run in-coming and out-going. I have disabled all programs and apps running in the background. I do not use any customs in my game

The issue appears when the map I am playing on is shown. The map comes up brown, then within 20 seconds the map appears. It then takes quite a long time to leave the game map and get to my base where the tanks are shown so I can choose one. Usually 1 minute. By that time, the game is in full play and I have lost advantage. Once I am in, game play is fine. Any ideas on how I can further tweak to enter games on time?"
Thanks, Mike

Sorry no.

Game tweaks would be up to you and their forums (the Warthunder forums.)

I would try a VPN along with changing your DNS to ones like 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.1.

If you are on W10 and run an antivirus suite that has been known to kill network speed.

Likely a server-side issue

Likely, the lag or delay at the beginning of often or casually played WarThunder games which you are experiencing on a good speed Internet connection occur on the server-side. The company running the game may be tight on bandwidth to their server. As a result, load balancing could be reducing speed to certain users. Try changing the laptop's or router's DNS IP address to Google's 8.8.8.8 or the other one mentioned in this thread, 4.2.2.1. You may see a difference with these DNS IP addresses being tried out.
