fezbob, when you uninstalled did you remove all remaining remnants from the registry. If not familiar with the registry then backup and be careful. In the past I have noted Norton does this little thing of leaving trash that prevents a clean new install and will have the same problem. Just a thought you could try.

i have had norton internet security 2003 installed for just over a year now and have had no problems until recently where i cant connect with security on, but when i disable it i can connect. i am on windows xp, have blueyonder broadband, and have tried all the symantec sollutions online and in the book. no joy. i possibly did something to live update, i have also installed and uninstalled it multiple times. please can anyone help?
