Question

Cannot connect home cinema via ARC on LG tv

Apr 30, 2017 10:46AM PDT

I have an LG smart tv model no 49UH610V which i am trying to connect with my Samsung Blu-ray home cinema HT-F4500 via ARC. The surround sound works fine whilst blu-rays are being played but not in TV mode. I have set both TV and home cinema as ARC enabled however no joy. I am also using a high speed HD cable and it previously worked before the tv was accidentally switch off at the mains.

Answer
Try reset all things.

That way it's just like the factory and you repeat what you did the first time to setup.

Try this. Unplug one end of each HDMI cable. Remove power from all devices, wait 10 minutes, power applied, plug in only the things needed to test ARC. If fail, get repair estimates.

Remember ARC troubles are all over the web. I can't check your settings and no two systems needed the same settings. It is not a "just works" system. I continue to install an optical cable when ARC fails and reconfigure.

Why? Cost to repair is usually too much or the makers bail when ARC fails so we go another direction.
