cannot attach files to emails

by legendofthewolf / April 25, 2008 4:58 AM PDT

Hi

I've been experiencing this problem for the past few months now. I cannot attach any files to any of my emails when using any online web service such as hotmail, gmail or yahoo. When I go to click on attach nothing happens and after repeatly clicking on attach still same thing. Also I noticed when sending data such over the net such as when logging in it takes longer then normal. When Trying to post or edit posts it also takes very long. Sometimes I cannot even edit my posts at all.

I'm using windows xp pro with service pack too. The problem seems to exists only on my desktop as I tried to attach files on my laptop and everything is fine.

Assuming you're using Internet Explorer:
1. Carefully compare the security settings for the 'zone' these sites are in.
2. Go to www.mozilla.org, download Firefox (another browser) and try if it works there.

Hope this helps.

I forgot to mention that I tried it using both IE and firefox. It doesn't seem to work with neither browsers. As for the zones I tried that also before but it still did not work. This problem is driving me nuts.

Gmail uses javascript, as far as I know (but I don't use it, so I can't check). So it's strange it won't work in 2 different browsers.

If you find it important enough, and no solution comes along, all I can suggest: a clean install of Windows. Then it should certainly work.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
