Cannot access web sites via one ISP

Sep 25, 2005 8:15PM PDT

WinXP Pro SP2, with Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Opera as Browsers.

I have 3 ISPs : ISP1, ISP2 and ISP3(DSL).

When connected to ISP1, I am not able to access all web pages, using all the above browsers, getting the standard "Page cannot be found" error. I am also not able to access POP mail using Outlook Express, getting the error "The host mbox.....'could bot be found. Please verify that you have enyered the server name correctly. Protocol:POP3. Poret 110 Secure (SSL): No. Socket Error 11001. Error Number 0X800CC00D ". There were no problems previously.

The strange thing is I have no problems accessing web sites and my mail box when I am connected to ISP2 and ISP3(DSL), using the same line. I also have no problems accessing the net and mailbox using another computer while connected to all the above ISPs and using the same phone line.

To sum up, then, I have a problem accessing web sites while connected to a particular ISP on one computer, but not with another ISP or another computer.

What on earth can be wrong ?

? It cannot be the computer because web sites can be accessed via another ISP or another computer.

? It cannot be the ISP because there are no problems when another computer is used.

Scans for viruses, worms, torjans, spyware, adware etc come up negative. (AVG Free, Spybot S&D, Ad-awaree SD, CW Shredder, Stinger, Ewido, Spyware Blaster, HOUSECALL and ActiveScan). I also have the same problems with Zone Alarm off. System Restore does not help.

Any ideas and suggestions : Thanks.

christy
