Cannot access files

by milapon / March 26, 2011 2:41 AM PDT

Hi, After running fine for 5 months, I suddenly cannot open my files. The file will appear in the small window when I hover the mouse cursor over it in the taskbar, but insted of opening, the small window disappears. This is true for the files I've tried to open---flash drive, My Documents, Window Explorer.........Any suggestions? thanks, Mike

Cannot open files with Windows explorer
by milapon / March 27, 2011 2:23 PM PDT

I use Windows 7. Just recently, I would go to start menu, click a file from , say My documents or My pictures, for example. Then I would hover the mouse cursor over windows explorer icon on the bottom task bar, then put the cursor on the selected preview file that shows up, click on it, and rather than it open up, the small preview bubble just above the task bar disappears as soon as I click....I can, however, open files with a file viewing program I have had on the computer all along: Vallen jpegger....Any advice is appreciated.

So you can open your files?

But not from Explorer. This is what happens if file associations are incorrect. Did you check your file associations?

And sorry, I can't find the answers to my questions so I may not be much closer to the answer.
Bob
