hello guys

i know that is a common question,,so i will be very percise.
regarding photos quality when shooting at night,,stablization of the camera to the desired shoots during zoooming and in direct shoots and general photos quality...which is the better one.
i have read that having a higher migapixels dose not mean a better quality and i have read also many complains about photos quality for both cameras and stablization for the p500 . can any one who have used the both camera help, please

It depends on what you want. The Nikon has things like faster burst modes, in-camera HDR, panorama. The Canon offers things like the articulated LCD, and the ability to mount an external flash.

The Nikon has more "fun" features, while the Canon is more like a DSLR (not in quality but in its type of features).

The two are about equal in image quality. The Canon's optical stabilization might work a bit better than the Nikon's sensor shift stabilization, but in reality, if you zoom to the max, photos will still exhibit blur if viewed at 100%. You should use a tripod for night shots at long zoom (and it would not be a bad idea to use a tripod for long zoom regardless of lighting).
