Canadians are weird. The event maintains the old term

bobsleigh, but the commentators usually call "the sleds" bobsleds which is what I remember calling it as a kid. So they call the event one thing and the sliding objects another, and are very punctilious about it. The Canadians have uniforms that leave about half of the lower leg bare. Showing off? Then again it was about 35 degrees above here today, and I was perspiring like crazy.

I'm really enjoying Ski Cross as well, but I find myself incredibly biased. I find myself watching mostly the women's events which is a big change from Salt Lake City for me. Hope Lindsey puts up another Gold, damn shame about the Super G.

"Winter, we love it, we glory in it, we're part of it. Come and share the joy" statement. At least that's how it got to me. I really enjoyed the metaphor. I deeply love the fact that Norway with its tiny population occupies third place. Of course I'm widely known to have odd tastes, but the metaphors coming out of this Olympics are so great. All the new countries competing, The Azores, Australia, Jamaica (yes, I know they competed before) but the broader spread of competition and the progress of small countries (though Sweden and Finland and Austria seem to be having trouble this Games) is all part of the great ebb and flow of life. I love it.

Bobsled, a tribute from the remaining McKenzie brothers, Mike to Bob.

As the story goes, the 1st sled was an old Canada Dry pop bottle crate/box which Bob sees had great downhill potential vs. any ordinary sled. Upon nailing a leather strap and climbing all day to the most challenging hill(or mountain)or a route home proceeded to go. After saying, adios to Brother Mike, Bob slid into history, never to be seen again. To this day, the Bobsled in named in his honor. Of course a standing reward is still offered to find Bob and the empty pop bottles still awaiting return. Wink -----Willy Happy
