I am a Canadian that spends 6 months/yr in Florida. Is my best option re cell usage to buy an unlocked cell and buy sim cards for both Canada & Florida????

There really is no 'best'

It's what works for you, service and price-wise.

What you have described is certainly one option.

Answer
No best, but my friends from Canada mostly use

That ATT GoPhone plan where it's 2 bucks a day when used. I also see a few pick up a Virgin Mobile pay as you go 35 a month plan. No tinkering with unlocking, SIMS or more.

Hope this helps,
Bob
