Question

Can you watch video from a TV channel website?

Jan 5, 2012 11:33AM PST

New to devices like Roku, AppleTV, and blu-ray players. Can you stream a TV show from the channel's website on any of these? Sometimes we miss one episode and it's free on the channel's website. How can we watch that on our TV?
We have older equipment. The laptop is Lenovo Thinkpad T61 with a serial port, Ethernet and USB ports. There are a couple of smaller ports that look like small USB ports but not sure what they are. One looks like the connection on my GPS device. We also have a Dell E6500. It has same connectors as the Thinkpad. The TV is a Toshiba 34HDX82, Cinema Series HD. It has a DVI/HDCP port as well as S-Video and the Yellow/white/red ports.
Thanks!

I had the ROKU and gave it to my brother. The Revue is now in and I like it. However some sites block it like HULU.COM so you need a PC for that.

I pay $1.99 per episode to watch shows like Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, etc. on my Apple TV. You can also pay to rent or buy movies. If I was you I'd call the Best Buy Geek squad to help you set up your computer to Tv connection. The Apple Tv to television connection is just a simple HDMI cable. Can't really tell what type of ports you have on your computers from your message,so give the geek squad a call.
